the ad says that you can't use coupons to purchase the items and still get a cat.
That's weird (and yes it says that in this teeny blue type on the coupon insert) But I just did the deal yesterday and used three manufacturer coupons on the Scrubbing Bubbles and got my Catalinas — and all free Scrubbing Bubbles. I wonder if they changed. I guess worse case is if they don't print, just turn around and return the stuff.
Thanks for the heads up on this! I'm reading over on SlickDeals.net that as of today (9/15) the catalina is still printing even if you use coupons in your transaction.
Personally I think it's absolutely ridiculous for Vons to require you to meet the minimum of $15 before manufacturer coupons are applied. Coupons are a form of payment, and Vons will get reimbursed for them PLUS make a handling fee for every one! You think they would want more shoppers to use them…but Safeway corporate doesn't really "get" it.
It's payment discrimination.
