Coinstar: $50 iTunes Gift Card for your spare change

by Jess on September 9, 2010

Update: Actually, it turns out you are redeeming your coins for a $50 iTunes gift card, not a $10 card as I had originally posted.

Time to gather up the loose change around the house and car! If you think you have $40 or more dollars worth of spare change hanging around, head on over to a Coinstar kiosk by September 30th and you’ll score a $50 iTunes Gift Card!

Here’s how it works:

I think this is a great promotion, especially considering personally I get super annoyed that Coinstar charges a 9.8% processing fee on the coins you dump in the machine. At least now that you get a gift card, it kind of balances it out.

(Thanks, Cherry Picker)

If I understand what the Coinstar website says, when you use Coinstar and get a gift card rather than cash, Coinstar does not charge a fee. So if you take $40 worth of change, you'll be getting $50 worth of gift card in this deal: no loss at all!
