Vons Deals 5/18 – 5/24

If you’re new to shopping with coupons at Vons
please read my simple, “How To Shop at Vons” guide before heading out!

The following deals are pulled from my local (Southern CA, Ventura County) VONS weekly ad where one “like/identical” coupon up to 50¢ will double per transaction. Vons is a SAFEWAY affiliate store.

Using Vons in-ad coupons: There is a minimum $10 grocery purchase requirement before you can use a Vons store coupon. Minimum is after club card savings are applied but before any manufacturer coupons. There is usually a limit to how many products may be purchased with an in-ad coupon. These limits are per household, per DAY.

:!: = Items I consider to be a pretty good price & worth possibly stocking up on.

How to make a printable shopping list:

  • Tick the boxes next to the deals you would like to add to your shopping list.

I believe I see an even better deal on the Viva Towels. Starting on May 20th, there is a Catalina offer with the Viva 6-pack Towels: buy 2 6-packs, receive $4.00. Using two coupons and factoring in the Catalina, this would make the towels $2.24 each (since the second coupon will not be doubled).

I went to vons today and saw the Reach toothbrushes for sale adults and kiddos from $1.87 each. I used the coupon buy 2 get $2 off, bought a total of 4, since I had 2 coupons. To my surprise I received a Catalina for $4 for buying 4 toothbrushes. If you buy 2 its $1, 3 is $2, and buy 4 its $4.

I also couldn’t find the $2 Farmer John coupon in LA Times. Is it a different date?

My Vons had the Deli Creations, cheese and crackers priced at 4 for $5 ($1.25). With the coupon ($1 off one) in the 5/13 SS that makes them .25 each. They don’t yet carry the new sandwich combos (but I think I see them making space.) Also, the lunchables w/fruit were on the shelf, but no price tags. I didn’t try it out to see what they were.

Secondly, I needed some canned beans, so I noticed that a few of the beans had peelies on the top–$.50 off one, and they did double. That made the cans .25 each. They were a new variety–black beans w/jalapeno and white beans w/chipotle. Just a heads up if that’s a stock up item for you. Oh, and I got one of each variety, but the cashier scanned the black bean coupon twice. He claimed they were the same anyway, and only one would double in any case. I was getting the evil eye from the lady behind me, so I wasn’t willing to fight for my .50. I’m curious if anyone else tries this, if they do show up as the same coupon.

Wine and Beef deal @ Vons?

Someone help me out with my thinking on this….

Vons has Beringers Founders and Chateau St. Jean wine for $6.99/bottle ($6.30 buy 6)..
In the Albetsons “Fresh Summertime Fun” book is a $10 manuf. coupon off Beef when you but 2 bottles of Berringer or Chateau St. Jean wine.

The coupon does not specify what kind of beef…so I am thinking free steak to go with some wine.
