Missing Deal Updates? Facebook Top Story Fix!

by Jess on September 26, 2011

Facebook Top Story FixLast week, Facebook rolled out yet another revamp to the way posts are shared in your newsfeed. They sure do like to change it up over there don’t they?!

The newest update has Facebook automatically selecting posts that it thinks you will like most and marking it as a “Top Story” while pushing all other updates to the very bottom. As a result, you’re likely not only missing out on new posts from your friends, but also posts from This Frugal Life! Even I was missing my own updates and the Top Stories Facebook thought I liked? Yeah not even close. Luckily, there’s a super easy way to fix this.

Top Story Facebook Fix

How to set a friend or page as a Top Story:

  • Login to your Facebook acount.
  • Scroll down to a status update from a friend or page you’d like set as a Top Story
  • Click the little triangle on the top right of the update & click “Mark as top story”
  • That’s it! Now everytime that page or friend posts an update Facebook will automatically mark it as a top story and move it to the top of your feed.

And of course if you haven’t yet, be sure to “Like” This Frugal Life on Facebook! It’s a great place to connect with over 5,000 other This Frugal Life savers, ask questions and more :)
